Extend Your Journey: Cusco & Machu Picchu

While you are in Peru for AMW 2026, we highly encourage you to take the opportunity to visit Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, and the magnificent Machu Picchu.

Arequipa is the perfect starting point for your Andean adventure. Cusco is easily accessible via a short 1-hour direct flight from Arequipa's Rodríguez Ballón Airport (AQP) to Cusco's Velasco Astete Airport (CUZ), with several daily departures.

Travel Tips

  • Acclimatization: Arequipa (2,335m) provides a great intermediate altitude to help you acclimatize before heading to the higher elevations of Cusco (3,399m).
  • Tickets: Machu Picchu entrance tickets and train reservations sell out months in advance. We strongly advise booking your trip before traveling to Peru.
  • Timing: Consider planning your Cusco trip for the weekend immediately following the workshop (November 14-15).
